San Francisco Wedding | Kevin & Danielle

Tuesday, July 13, 2010

We met Kevin & Danielle at one of their friends weddings we photographed 2 years ago.  They were in the bridal party and were such a sweet couple.   Then a year later they called me and I was honored to be asked to capture their wedding!  It started with a weekend with the family in San Francisco and did they ever get a beautiful weekend!  They surprised their family with a trip to the San Francisco Giants Game.  Then they rode around the outfield in the 5th inning and had an announcement in the 7th inning.  They had a lot up their sleeves.  I’m lovin it already and its only friday!

So here is the day, The  florist for the day is  Greenworks inc and the catering was done by Wine Valley Catering The wedding location was the Pavillion By the Bay

Since baseball was their theme, they HAD to play a little ball before hand.

While Kevin got ready at the Marriott in the city, Danielle got ready at the home of the former British Consul, which was an amazing house overlooking the Golden Gate & Presidio district built in 1920 with a Tudor Revival style architecture.  It was SOO cool inside!

After the lovely ceremony with a full 40 member choir that sounded absolutely beautiful, Kara’s Cupcakes met everyone outside with a delicious desert.

The Reception was a hit and they had The Photobooth Experience there and the shot on the right was of her & brothers.

It was a beautiful night on the bay. Thanks guys for such a sweet day, you guys make my craft an amazing blessing to do.

UC Berkeley Engagement Shoot | Brian & Stacy

Wednesday, July 7, 2010

Meet Brian & Stacy, they love Berkeley and so that’s exactly where we headed to shoot their casual portrait session.  The light was amazing and I we had a great time cruising through UC Berkeley Campus shooting.  But to start we headed to the marina and since the light was a bit harsh I used my secret lighting tool the Sun Swatter to diffuse the light on them.  Thus we got some killer shots of them on the San Francisco Bay, where we shot this casual session a few weeks ago.  The whole session was fun and my favorite part about Brian & Stacy was that they were spontaneous and despite this being the 1st time ever photographed, they just were themselves and had fun.  My favorite shots of they day have to be the ones in the redwood trees with the light coming through from the back.  Oh, that sweet sweet light lasted about 5 minutes, and then it was gone.  They are getting married this Friday and I am looking forward to their wedding!  Enjoy.

Yosemite Valley Portrait | Austin Family

Saturday, July 3, 2010

So last week we coincidentally met one of my friends in Yosemite, and I love hanging out with him.  It was great to visit his family and we played songs around the campfire, roasted marshmallows, went for bike rides and such.  Its cool when your family vacation collides with your friends vacations in the same place, less than 1.4 miles apart!  The best part was that it was a beautiful day and the sun was shining, the worst part, was that it was a biathlon event, trigger firing and mosquito swatting.   I got bit like crazy, but it was totally worth it.  I always wonder, what is the purpose of mosquitoes.  If I had authority with nature, as one of my favorite lines from the movie “Office Space”,  the boss, Bill Lumberg said and I would ask to those bugs, “what would you say… you do here?!”  Well they didn’t stop us from getting these cool shots.

p.s. I love destination portraits.
