Some of the most famous roads in this country are made famous by their shopping, such as Miracle Mile, Santana Row and 5th Avenue, but this region road is famous in my world because of its diverse beauty. Dotting this region are hundred year-old oak trees that bring coolness to the summer hear. Farms with organic produce that will end up at Artisans or Thomas Hill Organics, amazing award winning local restaurants. As you drive further, there are endless hills and valleys of vineyards and walnut orchards that have been around for ages.
Chris grew up in Socal but around decade ago moved to the Paso Robles wine country region of the state. His father runs Chateau Margene, for which produce my favorite wines in the central coast region and I put my money on them against a Napa cab. Chris helped form his own line, Mooney Family and is an excellent winemaker and enjoyable to sit down and talk with. I highly recommend their Reserve Pinot Noir. Jana is his summer sweatheart who is smiling, bubbly and reminds you of why you love family. After chatting with her for 5 minutes you feel like you’ve known her for years. She teaches school up in San Miguel and has a heart for kids. They are a sweet couple and we had a very relaxing day venturing through this land God created to capture these images.
I’m looking forward to capturing their wedding this fall at their estate nestled among the warm colors of the surrounding vineyards. Here are some of my favorites from the day!
